MSU 76 St. Bonaventure 71

WHEW!!! This is the first of many learning experiences for the dogs on the young season. Way to many turnovers. Benock made some timely 3's. Barry having a bad off night seemed to hurt us some. Bost had a rough game with turnovers . The first road test of the season is always going to be tough regardless of opponent. Free throws key to the victory. Beckham played some quality minutes tonight. Our 4's got alot of fouls tonight. Last and biggest-Jarvis was the MAN!!! 19 pts 12 rebs. 6 blks. Oh yeah, nice put back and rebound Ravern!! Go Dogs!!!

I watched the game through the channelsurfing website and it was a very exciting game. I thought we lose this game if we didn't have Twany Beckham. His ability to control the game by penetrating and getting to the basket reminded me of Jamont. He played very calm and mature for a freshman. And he can really drive the ball to the hoop. Dee was limping the whole game and he was very ineffective. I was hoping Rick would pull him earlier than he did. Our lead with him in there down the stretch shrunk from 13 points to 4. Twany was clearly the better option at the point for us tonight. I hope Dee gets well soon, but right now Twany gives us the better opportunity to win.

Ravern has got to get in the gym and work on his ball handling. We've got equipment guys who can handle the ball better than him right now. His shot is great. But his handling is a tremendous liability out there on the court.

Benock and Turner give you the same toughness on the perimeter every night. I really like both of them. Aside from fumbling the ball a few times, I thought Jarvis looked good. Romero looked comfortable out there to me for the third consecutive game and it's only a matter of time before he replaces Kodi in the starting lineup. Romero is playing really well and he is going to be a special player in time. I've been really dissappointed in Elgin's play this year. I think he has a ton of potential with his athletism and size, but he plays like a bull in a china shop. Tonight he really struggled on both ends and he only ended up contributing 6 mins.

I can't wait to see how we fare against our next two opponents. This year's team is really young and exciting.

Elgin is a hustler though. There is not a single minute he doesn't give you everything.

We were up on UNA by 30 and he is diving to the floor to win a time out.

These guys play with heart. I love it. What an exciting young team!

I love Twany!!!

Yeah, Dee Bost turned his ankle early in the game and was somewhat inefficient after that. Barry had a really off night, but the one shot he did make was really important.

Our 4's are still learning how to play without fouling I guess, and that will come with time. However, I've been so impressed with Jarvis who is averaging 7.4 blocks a game, and I don't think he's had more than 3 fouls in any game so far!

Glad to get that first road win. Nice job of scheduling on Coach Stansbury's part. Glad we had the Bonnies' for a first road game, rather than Washington.

Jarvis is impressive! Another fine effort by Ravern. Romero was doing well before he fouled out. Twany gave us some very solid minutes in relief of Dee. Barry had an off night, but its nice to have some steady leadership on the floor.

Is Friday's game going to be televised?

Augustus is our second leading rebounder. If Romero wants to "replace" him then he'll have to get up on the glass.
