Game Day at the Swamp

The thought on every one's mind now is a Co-SEC Championship. Wow that would be great, but depending on other teams to lose with a two road games and a much improved LSU team left at the Hump is a tall task. But, anything is possible. It will be interesting to see how KY can react without Patterson in the lineup against UT. Today's game will be an interesting match up down low. We win today and there is no doubt were in the big dance. If you like me and you already curious about possible locations and ticket prices, take a look at the sites for the first two rounds. Check out some game day articles from the CL and DJ.

2 Timothy 2:22 Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Kentucky will lose BAD to Tennessee. Other teams in the country may have a better starting 5 but Tennessee has the best 10 players of any team in the country. Forget Dawgs winning the SEC championship... it's not going to happen.

The Dawgs need to focus on winning the SEC West and performing well in SEC tournament. The Dawgs are not in the same league as Tennessee.

In fact... the Sweet-16 is likely the ceiling for the Dawgs. Don't think they will do any better... especially since Dawgs will have a low seeding due to not being ranked all year!

Rankings are important guys.. it creates a perception that the team is good - see Michigan St - who has been ranked all year and will get a 5 or 6 seed even though Dawgs could beat them any day. The perception is... Michigan St is good because they've been ranked... so they must be good, right? It's a cycle.. team gets ranked and then keeps getting ranked every week. Have to lose a LOT of games to fall out (Ole Miss).

Dawgs are stuck in 8-9 seed converstation.. and unless we beat one of Florida/Vandy and LSU.. we won't be considered for a 7 seed. A 4,5,6 seed gives team a better chance to reach sweet-16.

Worst case for Dawgs is lose Florida, Vandy, beat LSU and one game in SEC tourn.. get a 8-9 seed and win one game in NCAA tourn. This really isn't so bad but some Dawg fans won't like it.

We are the champions

Guess what, Dougie. The Dogs DID beat Florida.

Did that alter your PERCEPTION?

Your initial statement indicates you think I said the Bulldogs were going to lose to Florida? Go back and read my previous post again.

For your second statement.. you will want to read the post here again too.. but to answer your question:

The perception has not changed. The rankings still indicate that Michigan St is better than the Bulldogs.

I don't think so. You might not think so. But the national media voters think so... and they affect the rankings... which in turn will affect the NCAA seeding for the Bulldogs.

Try to read more carefully, anonymous... and with thought. And by all means.. please contribute your own thoughts and ideas about the Bulldogs basketball season. We are all pulling for the Bulldogs to win!

One other thing, anonymous..

My next to last paragraph is dead on correct. Dawgs beat Florida and have moved up to 7 seed.

If we beat Vandy, LSU this week, Dawgs move to 6 seed (which we really need). If Dawgs only beat LSU this week.. Dawgs remain a 7 seed going into SEC tourn.

I have a feeling the Gators are going play well against the Vols. Do we get a ring if we finish with the same record, even though they beat us?

I believe if Dawgs and Vols end with same SEC record... they will be CO-SEC champs.

Vols would have #1 seed in SEC tournament due to tie-break advantage.

So.. yes. Dawgs would be considered a SEC regular season champion.
