Will They Be Playing Our Tune in Music City?

No doubt about, we our playing some of our best ball now, much like we did toward the end of last season. I think we play better in Nashville than at Bud Walton. I heard Rick say on Dawgs Talk that will try to exploit Ogilvy's weaknesses like running the floor, come off some screens. Foster shoots an amazing 60% at home compared to 40% on the road. Jamont should draw the task. Can we win at Vandy? Yes I think we can. Will we, yes I think we will. What do you think? This could improve our seeding drastically. We'll see, I just hate there is no TV coverage. What do you think? Go Dawgs!!!

The Bulldogs are playing consistant with a lot of energy.

If we beat Vandy, LSU this week, Dawgs move to 6 seed (which we really need). If Dawgs only beat LSU this week.. Dawgs remain a 7 seed going into SEC tourn.

Problem with a 7 seed is having to play a 2 seed in the second round of tournament. This makes it very difficult to get to sweet-16. Dawgs really could use a 6 seed or higher!

Didn't you mention in a post a while back that you were going to the SEC Tournament this year? If so, look for me there too. Of course, since we play Thursday, I might not have a reason to wear my Auburn Elvis suit by the time you show up.

Doug, you're a bit off. A win over both Vandy and LSU would place us as at least a 5 seed, maybe a 4 depending on how everything else works out. If we win out and then reach the SEC Tourney Final, that would almost def. be a 4 seed.

I'm with you, Kurt! REALLY hope that happens. Any possible way the Dawgs can win and get either a 4-5-6 seed is what I'm pulling for. Just wish the national media would help us out by paying attention!

Hey Auburn Elvis... the Auburn basketball team had a lot to overcome this year with all the injuries. They split with Bama and swept Ole Miss. I'll be pulling for them on SEC tourn Thursday.

I’m hoping the motivation of possibly being able to win the SEC overall will push us through tonight. The fact that Vandy hasn’t lost at home this year is very concerning though. Regardless if Varnado can stay out of foul trouble I think we can matchup well on the perimeter. Look for Gordon to guard Foster. I believe the key tonight will be whether Rhodes can score down low on Neltner.

Arliss

what makes this years team better than last years?

Arliss said...

The ability to rebound and defend. Dietric did as much as he could last season, but were were exploited by larger lineups. Jarvis' ability to defend the paint is in many way defending the post like a 4 and 5 would, so it makes our wings job of defending the arc so much easier.

I'm not Arliss but would like to add some thoughts here...

This year's team rebounds and defends better. Last year's team scored better. Stans talked about this some in the SEC coaches conf call this week.

Last year's team was 4-guard and ran the floor to be effective. This year's team is well-rounded, can score from any position, rebounds, plays great defense, can run or play half-court and one thing Stans mentioned that surprised me... Dawgs are tied for third in SEC for Field Goal Pct. Dawgs are .001 point behind Vandy for second place. Looks like our offense this year is pretty efficient!

Looking ahead to SEC tourn. Miss St Bulldogs road to the SEC championship will likely look like this.

Alabama/Florida winner plays Miss St

Ole Miss/Georgia winner plays Kentucky
