Glad that is behind us.

State suffered their first loss of the season. MSU 52 WSU 63. Simple, the dogs got beat by a better team. Young team, we knew we were going to take some lumps, and we have plenty more to take before the dogs will be playing to their potential this season. According to this game as Jarvis goes so does the team. Tough night for Jarvis. Would be surprised if we don't play TT tomorrow. Recap here.

We miss Brian Johnson. He is not only a physical presence down low but does an excellent job getting us in the offense. However we'll be fine.

I'm beginning to think that Barry Stewart is not going to get it done at shooting guard. We need to get as much as we can out of every player. Barry seemed to play much better his freshman year when he came off the bench. He seemed to provide a spark then. Perhaps the starters should be Bost, Ravern, Varnado, Romero, and Augustus. Barry may be more comfortable coming off the bench and not having the pressure of being a starter. Just a thought.

Dee Bost is shooting horribly from 2-pt range. What is his problem?

Well Ravern and Kodi couldnt play a bit last year now they are starters?? And what is going on with substitution pattern.. 4 or 5 at a time.. nobody else in country doig that??? Beckham, Turner 3rd yr, and Baily should be gettin more minutes with the percentages and rebounds others are putting up dont you guys think.??

I think Dee is learning what it takes to play at the Division 1 level. I hope to see him get better as the season goes on. We have to remember he's only a freshman. Same goes for Beckham. I wouldn't mind seeing Ravern start at shooting guard instead of Barry. Ravern's gotten better since last season and may be great before it's all said and done. He's also versatile being able to play both shooting guard and small forward. I think Barry's gotten a little complacent. Stans needs to send a message that if he doesn't bring it consistently, his playing time will be reduced. I'm sure Barry's a good kid from a good family. However, Stans needs to be objective and do his job. I want to see this team be the best it can be. Obviously Varnado should start. Kodi seemed to have improved and Romero hasn't disappointed. Both Kodi and Romero seem to be versatile in that they can play both power and small forward spots and potentially play them well. Maybe Brian Johnson will get back soon from his injury. Again, I'm just not very satisfied with the starting unit or with the sub situation. Lets hope Stans figures it out sooner than later.
