WHAT’S IN THE FUTURE FOR THE DAWGS NOW?

With the loss to Tennessee , State is now 14 and 7 overall and 5 and 2 in conference. So where can we go from here? We have 9 games left in regular season, plus the SECT. Of the 9 games remaining, 5 are on the road and 4 at home. We have Alabama (2/6), Arkansas (2/16), Auburn (2/27) and LSU (3/8) at home. We have Auburn (2/9), Ole Miss (2/20), South Carolina (2/23), Florida (3/1), and Vanderbilt (3/5) on the road. It is my personal belief that we have to win 6 of these games if we want to make the NCAA tournament. If we are to win that many games over the remainder of the regular season, we are going to have to pick up our play. Everyone is going to have to give a 110% of themselves to get it done. The three losses that I forecast are Ole Miss, Florida and Vanderbilt. All on the road. I think the NCAA selection committee looks at who is playing well towards the end of the season and if we can accomplish the above and then win one or 2 in the SECT, we make the big dance, otherwise, it’s the NIT again. To me, going to the NIT is like kissing your sister instead of your lover. Just not worth it. How do you feel about the remainder of the season? Let us hear your opinion. -001

Getting two more road wins from that list will be tough. Further, one of those wins needs to be at the very end of the season, which means it would have to come at either UF or VU.

However, if we can beat two on the road from the remainder of the list (UM, USC and AU), can win out at home and can get one in the SEC Tourny we should be fine for the NCAA.

Give Riley a break. There were too many FREE shots missed to even think that his turnover lost the game is ridiculous.

When the other team's game plan is to foul you before you have a chance to shoot because they know you can't make free shots then it's going to be next to impossible to win.

If the fans want the Bulldogs to win at home then GO TO THE GAME and BE INVOLVED!!! Any one at the game Saturday could see how much difference a positive involved crowd makes. If you can't go. Give/Sell your ticket to someone who will go. It matters to players and it should matter to the season ticket holders.

Last year, we were one game from going to NCAA tourn with 8-8 SEC record. It's hard not to look ahead but winning the SEC West.. no matter what the record.. is most important.

Let's beat Bama and hopefully win @Auburn first... then see where things stand.

As far as NIT... ANY postseason play is positive and good for the program. NIT has been gaining in popularity and most games are on TV without 6 other games being played at the same time. I was really proud of Dawgs in NIT final-4 last year.

I think if we win 6 wins out of th remaining and 1 win in the SEC Tourney gets us in easily. Especially since that would mean we probably win the west.

5 wins and a win in the tourney would probably be good enough, but it would depend on which teams we beat.

We should win our remaining home games and @ Auburn. Also, I think we could win 2 out of Vandy, UF and SC. They only way i see these teams beating us is if we play like we did against Ark and they hit loads of 3's (which is bound to happen in at least 1 of these games).
I am not impressed with Vandy, but that gym/theatre is a hard place to play.

I don't believe "number of wins" is the answer although 6 more wins would work. Last year, Dawgs were 17-12 and #2 seed in SEC tourn. We beat UK and if we had beat Arky, would have gone to NCAA tourn. with 19-13 record (going 2-1 in SEC tourn).

Every year is different but I believe winning the SEC West.. no matter what the record.. is first objective. After that, depending on what our record is.. we may need to 1 or 2 games in SEC tourn. to get NCAA bid.

My prediction.. we will win the SEC West and will need only 1 win in SEC tourn. to assure a NCAA bid.

Bottom line.. we will be invited to NCAA tourn. Only question now is what seed will we have and that depends on "number of wins" and who we beat.

Bama game tonight and @Auburn Sat are VERY important to Dawgs winning the SEC West! C'mon Dawgs, Rock the Hump!
