Who Would Cause More Matchup Problems?

Jamont Gordon this season or an experienced Romero Osby running the point forward? Jamont has the sure size and Romero has the height. I don't think Romero is as fast taking to the hoop as Jamont is but he is big and has a guard's mentality. Most people have Romero as a 4, but you can't deny he can handle the ball for a big man. I'm sure you would suffer some growing pains with Romero as did Jamont. Dee will have the chance to be the chance to follow Jamont, but you never know, MSU could be known as the home of the point forward. Just a thought what do you think?

It would be amazing to see the two of them on the same team.

I'm not sure Romero will have the growing pains that Jamont did because that was a YOUNG and far less talented team that Jamont joined as a FR and he had a lot of the PG duties fall in his lap.

Romero won't have to deal with all that although I don't think he will really be asked show out as a point forward as a FR.

i really really hope Osby isnt utilized as a point-forward for us.

im all for him pulling down a rebound and starting the fast break, or being the outlet man on a fast break and leading it down court.

but him as the main ball handler doesnt seem appealing in the least. especially not in the half court offense. he seems far too valuable on the wing or in the high post.

I agree, but if your familar with his recruiting, he is very adament about not be a straight up 4. But if Ben, Phil, or Dee can run the point well, he will be better used at 3 or 4 positions.

yeah, ive seen that he has stated he has no interest in standing on the block all game.
and if he did that, he would be wasting talent.
he can handle the ball, so lets let him run the fast breaks when he comes down with the ball or when he is the best avail outlet pass.
being out on the wing as a 3 would allow him to put the ball on the floor to beat his man off the dribble, or shoot from the outside, or slide into the paint on the weakside for using his height down low.

man i love the 3 position. and MAN I LOVE THE TALENT AND SIZE THAT WE HAVE FOR THE 3!! hasnt been that way in a very long while.

Absolutely NO way Osby will be playing point, period. Hansbrough, then Turner, then Bost (assuming Gordon leaves).

Again, Osby will NOT be playing point. Too deep of a position and the kid's abilities wouldn't be met sufficiently.

Mr. Osby has some skills, look for this topic to be a discussed on all boards when he get to campus. Personally, I think he'll be a 3-4, but you never know.

From what I've heard, Demarquis Bost is going to be very talented as a point guard.
