Monday Morning Point Guard

I've already given my two cents about this past week. But if you feel you haven't, here's your shot.

Genesis 24:49 Now if you will show kindness and faithfulness to my master, tell me; and if not, tell me, so I may know which way to turn."

Ravern Johnson, Kodi Augustus- Length, atheleticism, shooting, speed, ect. on the perimeter. These kids can help this season.

Phil Turner played well in the South Alabama game.

The "Kung-FU Master" says:"Stansbury is losing because of his fear of losing".

Translation:

Not playing Ravern,Elgin,Kodi much more much earlier ( Stansbury afraid to lose early games against weaker teams) is resulting in losing NOW.

Stansbury is not the problem.

Here's what's happening:

1. Working in 3 new starters (Hans, Stewart, Vanardo)
2. Working in new offense (playing big instead of small)
3. Replacing experienced depth on bench.

Numbers 1, 2 have to happen first before number 3. Probably why Freshman aren't getting a lot of mins. (Clemson game) Stans is depending on B Johnson and Turner to provide depth for now. Stans has to have his starters ready with the new offense by start of SEC play.

This team is not a continuation of last year. This team is starting over with slightly higher potential than last year.

We have MORE TALENT (B Johnson, Turner, freshman) but LESS EXPERIENCE (loss of Slater, double Delk, Goodson). It takes experience to hold on to leads and win games at the end.

The silver lining is we've been leading late in 4 of 5 losses. That's the talent showing. The inexperience cost us those games. Gordon reverted back to trying to do too much (bad decisions) which didn't help down the stretch.

As the starters get more comfortable, Gordon will settle down, freshman will get more mins and improve and the team will be better. I would not want to play this team in another 5-10 games.

As for Stansbury... How many post season trips? How many winning seasons? How many SEC West championships? How many SEC championships? Not to mention last year's team (21-14, 8-8 conf) was the second highest scoring team in the SEC behind Tennessee.... and the SEC was the highest scoring conf in the country!!

Please... Stansbury is a good, well respected coach and we're lucky to have him.

"Stansbury is not the problem."

--uh...why didnt he call a TO during USA's 17 point(or however much) run?!?!
his substitution patterns are sproatic and questionable at best.
he allows Jamont to turn the ball over and over and over without benching him.
he allows Jamont(and others) to jack up forced contested shot after forced contested shot without benching him.

he has no control over the team and is doing a horrible job of coaching so far.

he is most certainly is a lot of the problem.
