Reward : Missing Dogs

Reward offered for anyone who can find my MSU basketball bulldogs. Another debacle, even worse than Miami. Even larger lead, who is to blame now? I think it can be spread around. But when its bad, it is bad. I'm speechless, what are we missing this year that we didn't have last season. I don't know who has the answers. I don't. This is a tough loss. Right now this team reminds of when you stomp on an ant bed, they scramble and lose all sense of how up to the point where you stomped on the bed of how they were working together. It looks like it could be a struggle from here on out, but we have along way to go and about 20 + games to play. - Arliss

It looks like we miss the Delks more than I thought we would. The way that Hansbrough and Stewart were playing in the 2nd half of the season, I thought that the Delks wouldn't be missed all that much. I knew Reginald's loss was significant. But, when a guy scores 38 on you, especially when in the previous game some one else knocked down about 30, it is painfully obvious that we miss Richard's defense.

I listened to the game on the way back from our Christmas party in Mobile. I allowed myself to get excited when we were up by 13 with about 5 minutes to go... big mistake.

Enter Gordon... 3 ptr up and missed, another 3 ptr up and missed, another up and missed.

All this time, of course, Bennet from USA is lighting it up from 3 point land.

Fella's we are in need of something. Only being able to hear the last 12 minutes of the game does not put me in the best place to judge what we need, but, my guess is that we didn't play the freshmen all that much. Although, evidently Turner started and put up 17! Not bad. Congrats to Turner.

Sit Gordon, sit Hansbrough, sit Stewart and bring on Turner, Augustus, Ravern or Bennock. Can't do any worse than we are presently doing!

As a long time state fan and alumni i would like to make a comment. I have always been on the fence about stansburys coaching abilty. He as they say is a good recruiter but his coaching is being exploited this season. How many games have I seen over the past that his bullies would get up double digits and cannot hold the lead!!! In past years total talent and experience would sometimes pull out the victory. This year his timeout calling whenin need, substitutions and just plain coachingdecisions are horrible!! I have watched numerous games this year and the fundamentals are gone ie...blocking out(Clemson) set play calls(Clemson,Miami, south Alabama) free throws(all games) and turnovers(with Gordon I am having flashbacks of mr. Turnover himself Gary ervin)!!!!!! For gods sake get back to coaching fundamentals and if they keep trying to play with ego and atheletic ability pull their ass and play someone that acts like they care!! Oh yeah by the way stansbury needs to go!! Just so u know I am not only a fan or alumni I was a player!

I hate to say it. But, I think I agree. As much as I have supported Stans, the blame has to fall somewhere.

Anonymous, I hate to admit it, but, I think Stans is no better than Richard Williams, who I also think was not a good game coach.

arliss,

You do not need that info to determine my validity, just watch films/games over stan's tenure. His lack of coaching g is very evident! I have seen some bad coaching on his part over the years but his players have gotten him off the hook most of the time. But this year Miami, south Alabama, and Clemson should show anyone with any basketball knowledge that he is a very week coach! I urge you to watch past games and it will be very evident!!

Why did Rhodes sit to start the game? He's not out problem Stans!

Turnover master Jamont is not a point gaurd... Ever think that might have something to do with it. Didn't see the game though, so maybe Turner started at the point?

Rhodes doesn't start, but Jamont does?

Remember when Rhodes almost left along with Houston? I wonder if he ever regrets making his decision to stay.

Everybody........Hold yourselves together. Many games left.

Coach Stansbury, other coaches, players, fans, ect.........Hold your heads up. Also, many games are left to be played.

Players like Ravern (listed 6-7), and Kodi(listed 6-8) bring length to the perimeter. These kids are long, and can help defend on the perimeter. Post players like Jarvis Varnado, Ect. can come out on shooters, ect. as well.

I'm not questioning your validity, I'm just curious.

Well, the individual talent of Phil Turner was somewhat confirmed in this game.

It seems like we have good individual players, and we're good enough to forge an impressive lead on the road. However there is an element of chaos and disorganization to this program, especially in how we run offense.

Rick seems to always adopt the attitude that we will learn from our mistakes eventually. It would be a lot better to learn in practice or in victories than in humiliating defeats where we don't call timeouts or make noticable adjustments late in games.

I think Wimp Sanderson made observations about our PG play throughout the game that were dead on. Just because you're the most phusically talented player doesn't make you a point guard. It's a cerebral position and Jamont lacks the decision making ability just like Ervin did. ZD
