I've come up with my observation of Romero Osby. I have watched alot of video on Osby and if you haven't seen him play in HS compared to summer league then you haven't seen his skills showcased. He has the face up game and athleticism of a Charles Rhodes except he can drag a defender out to the arc and drain a 3, not when we are in mop up time, but consistently. He has a quick enough first step to take his defender of the dribble and drive it to the hoop. He has the size to play down inside and back down a 4 and score it. He has enough ball handling skills to start a fast break, distribute and finish a play, and has a nice pull up floater similar to Scotty to consistently score the basket. I can't help but to think with the talent we have coming in 08 we might need as many as 2 role players, one in the back court and one in the front court. An unselfish PG would fit this mold and a big man in the middle with a sharp shooter on the arc/defender would make for a heck of a lineup that has the potential to make a deep run into the tournament. Would you agree or do you have a different description? In case you haven't seen any video here is alittle taste: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=romero+osby
Matthew 25:21 His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'

They've put two new videos of Romero on Rivals in the last week, the latest yesterday shows him running breaks on his HS team and draining long 3's. ( also a new video of Hopson's breakout week in Colorado Springs )
It's curious to know that he's been playing so much with a sore shoulder. He had it cleaned our recently and he should be 100% when his SR season starts.
Osby's national rank has slowly fallen, but you can't tell me he isn't one of the top 15-20 players in the land. ZD
Osby had surgury on his shoulder? when?
did i really miss that in scouting updates?

It didn't sound very serious, he'll should be ready for his senior season
Read the August 29 article on Romero from scout.com. He said it effected his rebounding and defense the most. It hurt very bad to reach out into passing lanes. The operation involved shaving a bone in his shoulder and he anticipated a month of healing at that point. ZD
You guys see this yet? Pretty fair and favorable analysis of MSU's Hoops potential at Rivals. I think it hits the nail squarely on the head.

ANOTHER BIG TIME RECRUIT THAT WILL NOT DEVELOP UNDER STANSBURY. IF ROMERO WAANTS TO GET BETTER, HE MAY WANT TO PULL A WALTER SHARPE OR EVEN A SCOTTY HOPSON FOR THAT MATTER AND GET OUT OF THERE
