Barry has taken Dietric's old number 22, Ravern will be taking #2 and Brain has settled on #21. Kodi will be taking Reggie's number and Elgin will wear #45. Included is some bios on new recruits and new walk-ons.

This looks to be as good a group of walkons I have seen at MSU in a while. I have seen B Bolden play and he has the ability to contribute some decent backup minutes by his SR year. Additionally, having a 6-8, 230 walkon for practice will be a nice asset. I’m impressed.

2 things stuck out to me when reading thru all that.
the first is that we got a 6'8" walk on. wow. that seems pretty rare to me. when is the last time we had a walk on that was taller than 6'5"?? i think Boler was the tallest walk on we've had that i can remember.
the second is to see the age of the new scholarship players.
Ravern will be 19 once school starts.
Kodi will be 20 once the season starts.
Elgin will also be 20 once the season starts.
Riley is the only one who will be 18.
i know Kodi went to prep school, but why is Elgin so old?
anyways, he and Kodi still need to be cleared, so lets just keep waiting for the clearinghouse to take its sweet time.

A few things stand out.
Ravern Johnson shot 84% and 91% from the FT line during his JR and SR seasons respectively.
Bailey put up some ridiculous triple double numbers in some of his HS games.
Augustus had a healthy scoring average in Maine last year. I read a one game account where he had 6 pts, but he went on to average 17.9 ppg.
I'm ready to read some accounts from the Sanderson Center but I realize a few of these guys are going to be late arrivals... knock on wood.

Some of the numbers Elgin put up are crazy. 33 pts, 26 rb, and 14 blocks in one game. I don't care if he was playing against the First Baptist Holy Rollers, those numbers are incredible.
Re: Bailey's numbers, one game was against Glen Oaks HS which is a traditional power.
How do you manage 14-16 blocks in a game ? You'd think they'd quit challenging him at some point. ZD
Bailey's numbers in those games are extremely dominating. This kid can flat rebound, and is a very good shot blocker. Augustus shows the potential to be a very active/productive player. Ravern is Ravern/Can flat shoot it.
Bailey also had double digits in major scholarship offers, despite having the injury setbacks.
It will be interesting to see how the R. Johnson, Augustus, Bailey recruiting class follows Stewart, Hansbrough, and Varnado. Hopefully we start to see a lot of productivity on the wing.
I hope and suspect that Bailey red-shirts if we determine that we have enough depth at the 4/5 positions. Surely to goodness we'll have enough depth between Varnado, Johnson, Rhodes, and Augustus. I just hate to see a whole year wasted on moments of opportunity. ZD
#2 Ravern Johnson has the size and atheletic ability to eventually become a defensive stopper. He's tall long and very atheletic. Has been compared to Corey Brewer. Ravern Johnson. Coahoma County's Coach Peterson said that Johnson could have averaged 35 a game in highschool if he hadn't asked him to do other things to help the team as well as himslf. This kid is for real.
