If there is one thing that Rick's team's have been known for, its rebounding and playing defense. Richard Delk was a good defender, but we haven't had a shut down defender since Winsome Frazier. We could put Winsome on a team's best player and forget about it. The lack of defense has shown the last two season's with MSU having to play zone. We all know Rick likes to have the athletes to play hard nose man-to-man defense. So which one of our players will be the next shut down man, my vote is for Phil Turner. Although MSU fans don't know alot about Phil now, that won't be the norm for long. I've seen Phil play and person and with his preseason play and summer play in Argentina, you'll be reminded of Winsome when you see Phil suit up. Phil obviously has alot of work to do before he can fill Winsome's shoes, but don't look too far for our next shut down defender, he's been sitting on the bench for year now waiting for his time. It won't take long before fans will be saying, Richard who?1 Corinthians 15:17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
