Brian Johnson – Just the Man We’ve Been Looking For

MSU was missing a certain something last season. It was more obvious at times against larger lineups. That certain something was a big body in the middle to bang with the front courts of the SEC. MSU fans are having been waiting patiently for Brian to take the floor and he can’t get here soon enough. Brian was a top 10 power forward out of Oak Hill Academy and was the youngest member of the US Junior National team. Brian has had several knee issues but seems to be back to 100 percent. Brian was MSU’s biggest cheerleader last season and looks to make an impact right away for the bullies. Brian has tons of offensive skills but I think State fans are looking for some to fill a role similar the one Brandon Vincent played while at MSU. Look for Brian to be the compliment to Charles and Jarvis next season. Brian’s size in the post should make if even easier for Jamont to drive it to the lane and be able to score from 15 feet in. Look for Brian to be a fan favorite instantly and be just what MSU fans have been looking for.

I wonder how Rick breaks down the minutes between Jarvis, Charles, and Brian. Charles will obviously start, and hopefully he won't have to be "managed" too much as a SR. Jarvis is coming on very strong, but Brian is a potential veteran and leader.

My guess is that they all play starter's minutes but with care to keep Jarvis out of early foul trouble. Maybe that means that Charles and Brian start and Jarvis comes off the bench.

I'd love to read more about Brian Johnson and what we can expect from him. Either from the horse's mouth or one of the Coaches talking about what he's capable of.

I think the starters are gonna be charles and brian and i think that you will never see both brian and charles off the court at the same time.. Charles will come out first replaced by jarvis then he will replace brian and so on

I think the breakdown or combination of post players will depend on whether or not Elgin can get on campus. I have to belive that Jarvis is our true center and Charles and Brian will rotate, but that could depend on whether or not Jarvis stays out of foul trouble.

Brian Johnson is to be a very solid post player, and appears to be in position to really help Mississippi State in the post.

I really hope we can red-shirt Bailey if he's eligible. I think we can make it with 3 experienced post players + Augustus + smaller lineups.

I don't see Elgin getting signifigant minutes.

Brian, Rhodes, and Varnado will all be able to rotate with 2 in an 1 resting.
any foul trouble will allow Kodi to slide over from the 3 to the 4 and help out, or let Bailey get into the mix.
