Us vs.Them

I belive that come February, we will be right in the thick of thing with TN for the overall SEC title. Well, it seem they are already getting the media to pump them up. They will be good but "What Smith will do is turn the Volunteers into legitimate national-title contenders -- and that means he is of paramount importance. " for the rest read: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/luke_winn/07/19/finalfourtransfers/index.html. This is a bit much too early in my opinion, with the Delks transferring, all the media sees is 2 starters transferring, they have no idea of Ben and Barry and incoming freshman. Look out, could get interesting.

I live in Tenn, so I have to endure the big orange hype on a daily basis. However, I think UT is entitled to lofty predictions at this point. Pearl has been nothing but a smashing success in his time in Knoxville and they return a team comparable to the one we'll be sporting in a few years.

I would actually feel a little more comfortable if Arkansas and Alabama were getting more attention in the West. ZD

Mississippi State played very well at Tennessee last season, and the game is in Starkville this season. Also, Kentucky and Georgia come to Starkville. Mississippi State has very good returning players, and the freshmen have potential.

i watched Tyler Smith play 6 times last year up here in Iowa.
the kid has game. he is flat out talented and is able to score in a multitude of ways.
he has quickness, strength, talent, a nice midrange shot, good slashing to the basket ability, and will end up being the very thing that TN needed to solidify themselves as contenders for the national title.
im not saying they will get it. not at all. all im saying is that he will fill the gap(s) that they had.
