The Missing Piece

After commitments from Romero Osby and Scotty Hopson, the only thing the 08 class was missing was a point guard. The coaching staff has found that piece in Dee Bost. Dee is the pg that will solidify the 08 class. He should be the heir apparent to Jamont Gordon. Dee doesn't have Jamont's size, but neither does just about any other D1 basketball point guard. Dee seems to be a heck of an athlete racking up awards for North Carolina athletics. You have to think that the sell to come to MSU was Dee being able to come in a play the point right away. Dee should be able to hone his skills in prep school and arrive at MSU ready to take the reins. I hope that Dee will be a pass first pg will all the offensive firepower coming in with him. The future looks bright, and the only question now is, which player will get freshman of the year honors. Here are some links to articles on Dee Bost:

When you read the linked articles you come away impressed with this kid. Here is a guy that has every right to be cocky. He turned a 0-3 football team into champions, turned a 0-2 basketball team into champions and was given accolades no one else has ever gotten in his state. But, when interviewed he is completely about the team. Always using "we" and never "I". Looks like a very good addition to the 2008 class.

You know those recipes that tell you to "remove from oven, allow to cool for __X__ ammount of time?"

That's what the 2008 recruiting class is going to be like. It will be very tough to wait this one out. We still have a whole season to (hopefully) enjoy before these guys step on campus.

Bost seems to have all the physical attributes of a great PG, but the mental aspects are oh so important. He was abile to QB and PG his HS teams with Championship MVP performances so in that regard, the leadership skills are definitely showing great promise as well.

When he motors down the court in the Hump he will have the following options....

a) Hopson
b) Osby
c) Varnado
d) Stewart
e) ALL OF THE ABOVE

Good times, good times...

One thing you have to love about this kid is his heart and desire to win. It seems like Bost has the intangables that keeps Gary Erwin from being a great player.
