Wanted everyone to know...

Thursday was picture day, and I met the entire team one-on-one, including the coach. Here is a little insight to their personalities...

Ravern is one of the quietest people I've ever met, and still has a tiny head.

Ben is the soul of the group...he's excitable, energetic, and fierce. Very cool.

Jamont was much less arrogant and bad-ass as I was expecting.

Rhodes is just an awesome guy. Very down-to-earth.

Phil is a goofball. The comedian of the group.

Barry was told to smack-talk...and he just stared at the camera. That's Barry smack-talk for ya.

Varnado seems goofy and laid-back. Quiet, but still personable.

Benock has a sense of humor, too...a Ben in the making.

Bolen is very laid-back, almost stoneresque.

Johnson was much, much less serious and motivated than I was expecting. He was quite humble.

Billy is clearly the motivational leader of the team. Great personality.

Coach seemed rushed....was trying to get to practice.

Just some thoughts I figured you all might find interesting.

When do the 08's arrive, do they get to mingle with the team?

Thanks Kurt, good stuff.
I've had class with a lot of the team - most of which are gone now (delks, rimmer, sharpe, houston). Gordon is quieter than I expected, he has a laid back style - always got to class on time. Rhodes is like everybodies bestfriend - you won't meet anyone that doesn't like the big man. Does Ben remind anyone else of Bart Hyche?

What about Kodi and Elgin?

Like all freshmen, Kodi and Elgin are very quiet. Get them together with the rest of the team and they are very interactive. I had some fun with Elgin and Charles when I told Elgin to throw his big body against Charles and see what his reaction would be. He promised to do so in scrimmage. And yes, the visitors this weekend will get to mingle some with the team. However, they won't be allowed to play in any practice or scrimmage. Too much liability involved.

Kodi is actually pretty personable...he's sorta like a more outgoing version of Varnado.

Elgin is kinda off in a short-bus kinda way. Doesn't talk much, and when he does it's extremely difficult to understand. He is a THICK mo-fo...reminds me of a shorter Big Baby Davis.

Anybody here what kind of a time the 08 recruits had on their visit?
