Close Call: Mississippi State guard Jamont Gordon, who received two votes for preseason SEC player of the year, said he was coming to Tennessee had former coach Buzz Peterson not been fired after the 2004-05 season.
"It was so real, I was definitely going to UT," Gordon said. "But then Coach Peterson got fired, and I didn't think Coach Pearl showed a lot of interest in me."

I think things turned out for the best, of course they wouldn't have been able to call all those fouls on Jamont against Lofton in Knoxville last season. So, thanks to Peterson and Coach Pearl.

HA! Sucks for them. But as an imaginary note....can you imagine the backcourt of Lofton and Gordon? Man I am glad Gordon is playing for the good guys.

Lofton deserves credit but he isn't nba material, I hope we don't respect him to much. Lets take no prisoners like Gholar did to Grizzard. He totally messed him up.
A lot of great college shooters don't make it in the nba, maybe we can give him a taste of the big leagues when he visits the Hump. Could Turner get into his head?
