Could this be Barry's Breakout Year?

We all know what Barry Stewart is capable of, but it seems some other people could also be paying atttention. http://collegebasketball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=720659

Good stuff. Thanks Arliss. They point out that his overall shot percentage is only 40, while his 3 pt percentage is a solid 39.something. Therefore, they deduce that he needs improvement on his medium range jumper. However, the reason his overall percentage is so close to his 3 point percentage is that the overwhelming majority of his shots were 3 pointers, which is why he lead the team in 3 pointers. Hansbrough had a much better 3 point percentage than did Barry, but, he didn't make as many threes as Barry.

At any rate, if Barry shoots more medium range jumpers, and learns to take it to the hoop a bit more often, then we'll see his overall percentage rise.

"Ice" will rise to the top of the waters of college basketball.

From a recent article it sounds like Turner is the one player who's improved the most over the summer.

I think Barry will improve but I think the perimeter is going to be dominated by Gordon and shared with Hansbrough and Turner. ZD

Rest assured, Barry Stewart will start most every game this season. Stans loves him and compares him to his all time favorite MSU player... Timmy Bowers. He'll start and play a ton of minutes.

If Barry could return to his old pre-SEC-last-season self, he'd be in business.
