Tom said...: Good stuff. Thanks Arliss. They point out that his overall shot percentage is only 40, while his 3 pt percentage is a solid 39.something. Therefore, they deduce that he needs improvement on his medium range jumper. However, the reason his overall percentage is so close to his 3 point percentage is that the overwhelming majority of his shots were 3 pointers, which is why he lead the team in 3 pointers. Hansbrough had a much better 3 point percentage than did Barry, but, he didn't make as many threes as Barry.

At any rate, if Barry shoots more medium range jumpers, and learns to take it to the hoop a bit more often, then we'll see his overall percentage rise.; October 2, 2007 at 2:21 PM
