Media PreSeason SEC Poll and Teams

Overall Champion TN (28) MSU (2)
First place votes in parentheses.
Eastern Division
Tennessee (30)
Kentucky
Florida
Vanderbilt
Georgia
South Carolina
Western Division
Arkansas (18)
MSU (10)
Alabama (1)
Auburn (1)
LSU
Ole Miss

FIRST TEAM ALL-SEC
Richard Hendrix, Alabama
Patrick Beverley, Arkansas
Jamont Gordon, Mississippi State
Chris Lofton, Tennessee
Shan Foster, Vanderbilt

SECOND TEAM ALL-SEC
Steven Hill, Arkansas
Charles Rhodes, Mississippi State
Tasmin Mitchell, LSU
Dwayne Curtis, Ole Miss
Tyler Smith, Tennessee

No big surprises, you have to think the media picked Arkansas over us b/c they return all 5 starters. The media looks at MSU and sees 2 starters returning, 4 transfers, and a defeat by the hogs in the tourney. But we did get the only other votes for overall champion besides TN. KY, no 1st place votes, ouch! I guess that this poll is much more accurate since it is not tied to the sale of preseason magazine. - Arliss

dang i gotta learn how to use my google ID to sign in.

anyways, the preseason ranks arent exactly a shock, like you said, Arliss.
Arkansas returns a great starting 5 and they beat us 2 of 3 last season.

I tried to pull the collegehoopsnet anonymous, so I could post it and link it. But I have a pretty good feeling the we wont be in the AP and coaches poll, we get some votes and we'll be close but probally in the 26-30 range, but don't worry we'll be ranked when we get back from Aneheim.

well, the link just keeps on going and doesnt wrap around for some reason.

collegehoops.net, then you will see a big M-STATE logo, hopefully. otherwise, look around for their top 144 preview, we will be in there.

sorry for all these multiple posts.

I love me some Bulldog Basketball. Can't get here soon enough. The higher the expectations, the higher the anticipation. IT'S KILLING ME!! I have played or coached basketball all my life and I am breaking down every aspect of this team, but have run out of things to break down. Oh please some basketball season.

If you can make it to the scrimmage, should get you by until the first exhibition game next Saturday.

Can't disagree with too much, although Tyler Smith shouldn't be on All-SEC Second-Team without playing an SEC game. And what's with Auburn getting an SEC West vote?
