Bailey or Augustus?

Seems to be some conflicting reports from both national recruiting sites about Kodi and Elgin this morning and their clearinghouse status. Hopefully we can get it "cleared" up soon. Check back soon.

Bailey was cleared this morning, Augustus is still waiting.

As of 12:53 PM, I'm still getting conflicting reports.

2:22 PM, still conflicting reports.

dang, this is heating up to be quite the little controversy.
rivals says he is in
scout says he isnt in(and is getting kinda snide with the comments)

i just hope that when the dust settles, both are on campus.

seeing as how there was a direct quote from Elgin saying he was cleared last Thursday, im quite interested to hear what the "conflicting" part is.

It is becoming very interesting, this has been one of the more interesting summer of MSU BB recruiting that I can remember. I like being the neutral site, were everyone's comments are welcome.

2:46 PM Conflicting reports, there is some orgainized madness to these times I'm posting. I think both get cleared. I often wondered if only one could get cleared who would it be, Kodi or Elgin? I thought about writing a new post on this subject, but we need both. Alot of people have said Kodi, but I think Elgin will be a bigger contributor earlier, oh well I hope they both get cleared soon and are both are All SEC type players.

3:10 PM No word, does anyone beside me find it funny how Rivals and Scout are about mentioning each other name. If anyone has seen The Ten Commandments, it reminds me where the Pharoh has Noah's name stricken from the record. Let the the name (whatever site you don't like placed here) be stricken from all the records, let (whatever site you don't like placed here) never been spoken of again.

oh, its total absurdity.
i was actually banned from the scout site(more than once) for ignoring them and mentioning the rivals basketball rankings repeatedly.
they both have a policy of not allowing info/links to "competitor" sites, but the only site they actually care about restricting is the other recruiting site. meaning, i can post up recruiting info from ESPN or CBSsportsline all i want, and neither rivals nor scout care at all.
it really has become a joke.
oh well, it helps pass the day.

My best interpretation of this situation is that Bailey must have been notified he passed the LA exit exam and he assumed the NCAA would clear it... which they probably will.... just not officially yet.

I think David Murray goes strictly by what the compliance staff tells him and that's very close to the gospel as far as eligibility is concerned.

Our Rivals folks took Elgin's word for it. I guess you could say that he's unofficially qualified.

If Scout would rank Scotty higer than Rivals it would be easier. As a fan base we like to stick our chest out and say the higher ranking b/c we are proud of our recruits. If Scotty was ranked higher by scout is would be easier to use that reference, plus he is #11, one spot past top ten, that makes it more frustrating, to make it simple I averaged the two and say Scotty is a top 10 player in the country, that makes it easy and everybody is happy.

I read the rivals article and it was not very clear, it left alot of room for spinning what Elgin actually thought where he was in the clearinghouse process.

unreal. i was just banned again from Scout.
i didnt even post anything disprespectful or inappropriate or combative.
whatever.

Mystic, how many usernames do you have? Did you notice that Gene's BB skuttle butt was the same as my post on Sunday?

i think i had 4 of them in total.

i didnt see that the skuttle was the same as your post...didnt read the skuttle.
but dang thats impressive for a guy doing a part time blog to have the same info!

Anybody have an idea how good Augustus is? Read somewhere that he shots the three well and plays above the rim, loves to drive and dunk. Can anyone confirm this? I would be happy with that.

The best "paper" basketball publication that I have seen in a long time, came out last Winter. It was a "magazine" that featured the Top 100 high school basketball players in America, with photos and several paragraph artices, including quotes from coaches about each one.I read the whole thing, but unfortunately it got mistakenly taken out in the trash a few months ago.

To get to the point, about the only thing I remember is that Kodi was in there, and there were a lot of positive comments about his athletic ability. The thing that impressed me the most is that he was one of only a few guys in the book about whom some people made comparisons to professional athletes.Several people said that Kodi's athletic ability at this stage was comparable to that of some NBA players. That might provide a little more information on how good Kodi might be.

My "gut" tells me that neither Kodi nor Elgin has "cleared" yet, and, to be honest, I'm starting to get a little concerned.

The book on Augustus is that he is a very good shooter, atheletic, and good going to the basket. Also, rebounds and blocks shots well. This kid is very talented.

Be not afraid. This is just typcial NCAA rhetoric. They took, what, 6 months to clear Mike Brown last year in football? I think they are both in from what I have heard and read, I think the NCAA has more important schools to worry about with their athletes.....(like a school a little further north trying to admit a kid that can't read for the 4th time)

so its clear that Bailey hasnt cleared yet. apparently his statements were wrong.
which leads me to ask, how on earth does someone not know that they havent been cleared?
i know the process firsthand, it isnt this difficult to understand. without going into detail, it is pretty simple to know whether or not you have been cleared.

oh well, the news is definate that Augustus has been cleared, so we are back to having 1 of 2 cleared. lets just hope Bailey is actually cleared soon.

Rivals still hasn't pulled their report on Bailey being eligible and not mention about Kodi. Scout is reporting Kodi is cleared and Elgin is not. Exact opposites. Still conflicting reports. So, I guess both are in or maybe just one, depending in which one you believe.

there is a comment in the member's board about Bailey's status.
they say that yesterday's story was incorrect.
