Player Progression Series Part 4 - Barry Stewart

Barry Stewart Known last year as “Mr. Cool.” He is unflappable. His IQ of the offense and defense is probably the highest on the team. He showed us his ability last year on his ball movement and his 3 point shooting ability. He also did a very good job at the free throw line. He still needs to develop his body strength, which he is doing. On defense, he needs to develop his defensive strength and aggressiveness. Also, I feel he needs to improve on his pull up jumper from 12 to 15 feet from the basket .A single biggest attribute he brings to the team this year is, “He is a clutch free throw shooter.”

-001

Acts 3:16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.

I'm sorry, but these "he needs to" and "what should happen"s are boring me. I know all of this already. I thought you were going to give unique insight?

Unique insight is what makes this blog worth reading, and I haven't seen any in a while.

Barry Stewart has reportedly gained about 10 pounds, and looks to be an improved over all player.

Yeah, I'll have to agree with Kurt. I thought it would at least be observations from the Sanderson Center. Even rumors are fine.

Sorry for the lack insight, these are a collection of writings from my insider 001, who is close to the program and his writings are based on what he has gathered from those directly involved in the program. I rely on certain people for inside information, This is the only site talking about bb in the heat of college football season. Only so much is going on right now. I started this blog to give everyone a place to talk about bb when all the big sites are not.

Kurt, ease up dude. Create a blog for yourself then.

Hey Arliss, maybe you can find a way to get an interview with Stansbury, one of the players or an assistant or something.

Hey, but thanks for giving us die hard hoops fans a place to hang out while State is stinking up the football field.

Oh... sorry Kurt. I just clicked on your name and realized that you already have a blog.

Hey... you are the self described "free lance writer", so, get busy on your blog and give us some "unique insight." I'm looking forward to your giving Arliss a run for his money. There's enough room in the blogosphere for two good blogs.

So get busy dude. Looking forward to some good articles from Kurt W.

Some of the comments in the series are a direct reflection of the coaches opinion on players.

Ben Hansbourgh was last seen windmill dunking at McCarthy park gym. While Charles Rhodes left his cake out in the rain.

Can't help but like Barry Stewart, his upside is all tied up in gaining physical strength. He has to get stronger in his upper body.

As for Kurt and whoever suggested Coach and player interviews.. I don't think anyone outside of the media is gonna get anything on the record. I'm also fairly certain that most of the players are not made availiable to the media untill media day or after games.

Me personally, I wish we'd adopt the notion of being a basketball school and the people that do have more access to the team and Coaches would cover them like you see Kansas and UK mediaphiles do. At least when the guys are on campus and the freshmens have all reported.

Untill then Arliss has my thanks and admiration for providing a virtual water cooler where we can discuss the team. We can mark the weeks by misery now that football is underway.

Who will be in the final four with us? And more importantly ware is the final four?

Anonymous said...

San Antoine here we come. Probably all the UT teams will get a bye. UTex, UTenn, UTA&MCC and us. A great place to win it all, Damp will be proud. We owe Texas. Win one for Z-man and Harp.

Let see how sweet the field of 16 is before we worry about the Final 4.

You gotta believe AR, lets dream big. I can see the refs calling timeout to fire extinguish the nets after Barry and Ben torch them.

Lindys is out. Myswell be Bamahoops. They have no shame. If thats what winning does to you I don't care if we ever get to the top. Winning isn't everything, its how you play the game. Win at any cost is not what it is all about. No telling what they will do so Steele can play, he may not be able to walk past his 30s but he will sacrifice it to lead the Tide to a couple more wins.

My blog isn't the same type. Mine is more informational and commentary, and I would never have the resources necessary for insight from every SEC school.

I do appreciate the viewership, however, and look forward to continuing the readership of this blog.

Put some steele into bummer they are done. Hope they don't embarass the sec to badly when Georgetown crushes them. They can use steeles injury as an excuse. Maybe gotfried shouldn't have let his staters in against us when they had that 30pt lead, might have better fortune now. You reap what you sow.

Rick is such a classy guy. Know he wants to win as much as anyone but really its about winning or losing with class.
I would like athletes to praise God when they lose. God is for both teams and He is a great God whether you win or lose. God bless

Hey Kurt, you're given a free blog here.Haven't you ever heared that old expresiion, "Don't look a gift horse in the mouth"?

Show a little gratitude for Arliss' efforts.

And, by the way, if you don't like this blog, friend, guess what, you don't have to read it!

arliss, keep it up man, this is the only place that anyone cares to talk about basketball round the clock, and out of season.

we just got thru a dead month for recruiting, and football has just started(poorly i might add), so naturally the basketball news will be slow.
that isnt a statement against this blog, instead its a statement on the current state of MSU hoops in the average fan's eye.

instead of talking college hoops, people would rather watch LSU skull drag our football team on national TV, and then complain about how suprised they are that we lost.

one thing that would be totally cool is a continuation of the player evaluation, but for the teams in the conference, or even all the teams on our schedule.

have a team a day(or every other day). people would probably add a lot of their own thoughts in on that.

I'll be breaking down each team on our schedule and we'll be talking everything to do with that opponent for that day that you want. Coming soon after the player progression series.
