Breaking Down the Schedule - Saturday 12/29 Missouri

This is one game Ben Hansbrough and I are both looking forward to. Do you remember the name Stefon Hannah? Anyone who isn't a freshmen will, Hannah had a career game last year with 27 pts and 5 steals. This is a team that will run a Mike Anderson's 40 minutes of hell basketball. They return 4 starters from a team that started hot but had troubles with consistency. Hannah is the master of harassment but had his own troubles with holding onto the ball. Ben held his own, but Jamont was bothered at times by Hannah. This will be the first of the top two high tempo teams in the nation we will play this season. This is a team which under Mike Anderson will only get better. Last season we caught them on a good night. If our guards can hold their own and we can run up and down the floor I like our chances against Mizzo. They are a bit thin in the post, but can excel in the back court and have some serious 3 point threats. Our offense is at its best when the crowd gets behind us at the Hump. I like our chances and I think we take down the kittens.
Acts 3:16 By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.

i headed down for the game last year in Columbia, MO and it was a bitter bitter pill to swallow watching our guys lose.

Hannah was the best PG id seen in the country up to that point of the season. he was everywhere. he hit the outside shots, he penetrated at will, his active hands on D deflected balls, caused frustration, and got steals. he really was the best G id seen up to that point in the year. actually, he continued to play like that thru the season too.

this is the sort of PG that Gordon will probably always have problems with. Hannah exposed Gordon as being slower and less athletic. the 'quick twitch' PG that has a fast first step will hurt Jamont every time. they will either get past him, or cause him to reach in and foul. Jamont's size is an asset in most all cases, but on D against quick PGs, its a definate disadvantage.

for this game though, i fully expect MSU to win. im sure itll be a battle for much of the game, but home court advantage coupled with improved play from all our guys will hopefully mean we get a W.

Should be a difficult game - a big challenge for our guys. Hopefully home-court advantage will reign true.

This game worries me. It will be in December with school out for one thing. It's also not too long of a shot for most of MSU's season ticket holders to be in Memphis that day at the Liberty Bowl. That would be quite a dilemma.
