There was a rumor on one of the message boards yesterday about the consensus #1 high school player in the nation making an unofficial trip to MSU this weekend. Monroe has named MSU on his long list. I spoke with 001 and he said that it is just a rumor. The coaching staff stopped recruiting Monroe a year and half ago to concentrate on Hopson, Osby, and Bost. So this should put the nail in the coffin on any chances that Greg Monroe ever adorns the maroon and white. All three commits are still solid.

Interesting...I would love to have him, but don't see this as a possibility.
It baffles me sometimes that something like this could come out of thin air. It's possible he sees the guys we have coming in in '08 and may want to be a part of that.

the guy named his final 5 just last Friday. we werent part of that 5.
heck, he narrowed the list from 8 to 5, and we werent even part of the 8.
we havent been on his radar for a long time now.
it annoys me when this sort of crap just gets made up for entertainment.
i am happy as hell that we have the class we do.
a great SG/SF player. a great SF/PF player. and what seems to be a natural winner and great PG player.
