As the Basketball Turns

According to Jody Demling of the Courier Journal, Scotty is reopening his recruitment.
"Hopson, who was considering the University of Kentucky before committing to the Bulldogs, said he's "still focused on Mississippi State" but is reopening his recruitment. "

I question this b/c the quote ends before Jody states that Scotty has reopened his recruitment. Cheap shot by the KY media or truth?

Romans 12:12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

odd that he would use Hopson's exact words during the 'focused' part, but not on the 'opening recruitment' part.
if Hopson himself said that he is reopening recruitment, then the guy would have used that exact quote.

He is being very Clintonesque. Notice he is not remaining "committed to" MSU; just "focused on". The recruiting door has been swung wide open. When does the early signing period end? Heck, he may ink with the Big Blue before the signing period ends.

Whatever...

I just hope he goes to an SEC school so we can kick the fire out of him when he comes to the Hump!

It will be very interesting to see what Mississippi State's approach to the continuing recruitment of Scotty Hopson will be.

Will they now recruit him even harder and show up at every high school game he plays so that he will be aware that they are the program that wants him the most;Or, will they say "adieu".

It seems to me that in this case there is no middle ground.

Whaddya think?

Notice the site has removed the quote and is now no longer claiming Scotty is reopening his recruitment. Kentucky media at its finest.

I'll be very surprised if he stays. Seriously, you could play for Pitino or you could play for Stans... what would you choose?

If you're Hopson, the only reason you would choose State is the opportunity to start and have an immediate impact. But, will that be enough to offset a once in a lifetime opportunity to play for Duke, UNC or Louisville?
