Why can we not defend the 3?

I don't think we are taking this game very serious.

To much time at Disneyland, that about sums up our play the first 5 minutes.

I'm extremly dissapointed in our performance in the tournament. Charles played well, little things cost us the game.

Any of you homers want to change your prediction of 25-26 wins and 14-2 in the SEC? I thought Stans said this team has the best chemistry he's seen and they can shoot. It's one thing to shoot in practice and another to do it in a game. All we do when they turn on the lights is throw up bricks. Ben and Barry were great role players off the bench last year, but they've proven they aren't worthy of starting roles. They couldn't hit a shot to save their lives. When will our basketball team start to take care of the ball? Thanks Barry for throwing the game away, literally, with that last pass to Ben that was stolen. And when will Stansbury learn some offensive sets? It doesn't even look like we run plays/an offense - we just play backyard basketball.

Embarrassing...just embarrassing.

I'm dissapointed, but I'm no where near giving up on this team. Lets see how the pre sec finishes out and let see if we can get our bench to develop before we scrap the season.

Right now I would say a .500 season is a stretch. We look pathetic. I know it is still early but man! We look awful. Gordon is no where near the same player he was the last half of last year. He's playing more like he did the first half.

terrible job by jamont tonight. Rhodes was solid. Put this loss on Stans and Jamont. Jamont has reverted back to the old "force up the floor and into the lane" for a turnover specialist of last year.

Fault Rick for not teaching his players to play under control. How many times did we watch Jamont, Barry and Ben force it into the lane, leave there feet and get called for the charge?

Barry and Ben shot the ball fine. That was not our problem. Jamont was our detractor tonight. He is no All American. Sit him for a bit. Start Johnson, Varnado and Rhodes along with Barry and Ben.

Good win for Miami(Ohio). Mississippi State is/will be fine.

Tom-

I don't see how you can blame it entirely on Jamont and Stans and then say we should start players who have shown they are not ready to contribute in a positive way (see pretty much every player on the bench minus maybe Benock and Bailey).

I dont think Jamont had a good game, but I thought we were playing our best when Jamont was forcing the action. He took some bad shots, but didn't turn it over that much.

One problem is that we can't get more than 1 or 2 of our starters to have a good game on the same night.

Barry had probably the worst game I've seen him play...5 pts, 5 turnovers. He hurt us.
Ben didnt play particularly well either.
With NO backcourt depth from the bench those guys have to be consistant. I thought we would have enough from Phil, Benock, and Ravern, but those guys aren't ready apparantly.

Charles had his best game in a long time. If Charles plays with that effort the whole season things will come around, but we have to develop some depth and have our starters play more consistantly.

B. Johnson has played well. I am talking about starting Brian, Charles, Jarvis, Barry and Ben. Or move Jamont to the wing and use Barry off the bench.

Barry didn't play his best game, that is true. But, Jamont took SEVENTEEN SHOTS! Had a mere four assists to go with 3 Turnovers and played FOURTY MINUTES!

Sit Jamont for a game and put Barry at the point.

Bennock was shooting pretty darn well before we went out to CA. Get the boy some minutes and some looks.

More speed and atheletic ability on the perimeter can be used......Mississippi State can let the freshmen play through the inexperience. Speed and atheletic ability are very important. Speed/atheletic ability is helping the young South Carolina backcourt. Speed/atheletic ability is helping the young Olemiss backcourt. Ect. Mississippi State can start throwing the freshmen in the rotation. Use more primeter players.
