The game was up and down, they were a scrappy team and their play keep them in it. The refs weren't calling much and that considering U of C had 25 fouls. Jarvis was the star with 8 blocks and he came on strong at the end. Jamont and Barry played better down the stretch. It was fun watching the newcomers all come in one substitution. It didn't show in the stats, but Brian Johnson is a hustler getting rebounds and I liked Ravern's play. Full write up to come, around 2000-2500 in attendance. Best place to celebrate a victory?

Negatives - We missed a lot of open shots (Ben&Barry 0-6 from 3), Horrible FT shooting, lackluster rebounding at times, defense was not that great, 75% Effort Charles showed up.
Positives - Jarvis Varnado looked spectacular, Ravern looked better than in the scrimmages, Barry looked more agressive going to the rim.
I'll attribute the less than stellar play to nerves, rust, and the substitution pattern. I know Stans will change the way he subs as we get into the meat of the schedule so I dont have a problem with it, but I thought it threw off the rythm of the team. Again, I know he was just doing that because its an Exhibition.
Hopefully we got that bad shooting game out of the way and we look much better Tuesday.
