South Carolina came in last year and stole one out the bulldogs when they were least expecting it. The were flat from the time they hit floor. The gamecocks are thin up front and will be lead by and undersized Dominique Archie and will look to 3 true freshmen in help out in the post. USC's backcourt will lean heavily on a pair of transfers. PG and Big East All-Rookie pick Devan Downy at Cincy and combo guard Zam Fredrick from Georgia Tech. This could be a long year for the yard birds and MSU needs to go to USC and take care of business this season.

One of the pre-season basketball magazines had a listing called "Ten Really Bad Losses", and, unfortunately, the Bulldogs loss at home to South Carolina was listed as one of them.
"But for that loss the Bulldogs would have won the SEC West outright and been in the NCAA Tournament instead of the NIT", they wrote.
I hope we remember that when we play South Carolina this season!
Just a matter of bad timing...this year should be a blowout. Never 100% count out Odom, however - he's a very intelligent floor coach.
