Monday Morning Point Guard

Here's your chance to run the point and say what you think about the LA Tech game after we've had time to digest the results. MSU being outrebounded 52-46 is inexcusable. The assist to turnover ratio was a bright spot, be our frontcourt has got to "Cowboy Up" and dominate the paint again. Barry leading the team in rebounds is good for Barry, but not for the team. We need for Brian and Elgin to step up and get more rebounds in reserve. I would have liked to see Jarvis have a better game offensively, even with only one foul. I liked Ben's quick trigger finger in the first half. We have alot of room for improvement before Thursday, what do you think?

Acts 15:9 He made no distinction between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith.

We have alot of jump shooters. The problem is when their shots are not falling then we do not have the luxury of getting fouled like you would if you were attacking the basket. However, there is alot of talent on this team. If we can pickup our rebounding (espeecially offensively) then we can go a long way.

Brian Johnson is deceptively quick and does a nice job of sealing his man of down low. There were small glimpses of why he was so highly recruited coming out of high school.

Additionally, I would imagine the team was as drained mentally as everyone else after the football game. You would think that they would be as big of fans as anyone else on campus.

Mississippi State's starters are impressive. Front line players, Brian Johnson and Elgin Bailey are coming along fine. Turner is continuing to come along, and will really make waves in the back court. Benock is making a showing. Ravern and Kodi appear to be stumbling out of the gates, but they will not fall. These two kids will gather themselves, and step up.

Clemson has issues, and is still working things out as well. They see this as a very, tough game for them. Rhodes was seemingly unstoppable during the second half of the Clemson game last season. Varnado played a lot in the first half, and had a good game also. Also, Brian Johnson had a big time game against Clemson when he was at Louisvlle.

Auburn lost to Tulane over the weekend.

dang!
UK, USC, GA Tech, and Cincy also lost to lesser competition last week too.

Auburn may miss Dollard even more than i had originally thought.

speaking of upsets, USC went down to an ASUN team. that means two ASUN teams(gardner webb too) beat two top 25 teams last week.
i sure hope USC is playing like this in a couple weeks when we head out to SoCal!

I expected Auburn to lose to Tulane. Tulane is a competitive team this year, and the Tigers lost a ton to suspension/redshirt.

Clemson will be a difficult game, but we have a great shot. We certainly need the win to prove some worth.

Was that an attempt at humor?
