We will be opening the Anaheim Classic with the anteaters of UC Irvine. Most people who followed the College World Series this year will recognize the name. The anteaters are out of the Big West Conference and finished with a record of 15-18. UC sports 4 returning starters led by Darren Fells and Patrick Sanders (who led the conf. in blocked shots). PG Michael Hunter was a freshman AA by some publications. They have some guys with some size to pound down low with our big men. The anteaters are currently 2-1 with wins over Loyola Marymount and Utah State. Currently their top two scorers are in the frontcourt, so don't look for the anteaters to be a pushover, much less a warm up game, but look for this game to closer than you think being the first road game of the year.

I am worried about this game. It's a must-win respect-wise, and Irvine is a pretty decent team.
With that said, an opponent with less talent than us and relying on their inside game plays right into our hands. Look for Varnado to block 6+ shots.
